Yes, I rather “fear” she was! I’d hoped that All Saints’ Day would bring her back, but here it is, November 1, and no sign of her yet! 😦
Libby here — and I can report that Kate is not with me! So that shoots down your second hypothesis. Unless of course she’s with Melissa — but I don’t think she’d do that to me. She’s already giving me a hard enough time with Doctor Death!
In any event, if you do see Kate — and I hope she does turn up, otherwise I’ll be suffering a sudden death myself! — please tell her I’d love a few more breaks from the viperish Woodhaven ladies. If it weren’t for Maggie, I’d be on the next plane back to London…
Good news — I found Kate! Your third hypothesis — the natural disaster — was correct. She was the victim of a freak snowstorm that left many in New England without power. Let’s hope she gets her electricity back soon — otherwise, I won’t get a new adventure tomorrow!!! And now I’m off to visit Maggie, who has a wood-burning stove…
